 Nine Men's Morris – Game Rules

Objective: Form mills (three pieces in a row) to remove your opponent’s pieces. Win by reducing your opponent to two pieces or blocking all their moves.

 Game Phases

1. Placing Phase:
   • Players take turns placing their 9 pieces on any empty spot.
   • Forming a mill (3 in a row) allows you to remove one opponent's piece.
2. Moving Phase:
   • When all pieces are placed, players take turns moving pieces to adjacent empty spots.
   • Forming a mill still allows you to take a piece.
3. Flying Phase:
   • When a player has only 3 pieces left, they can fly (move to any empty spot).

 Taking Opponent’s Pieces

• You must remove a piece not in a mill, unless all opponent pieces are in mills.
• Removed pieces do not return.

 Win Conditions

• Your opponent is down to 2 pieces, or
• They have no valid moves.
